Brief Description

Damcon is responsible for the corrective maintenance, provisioning of extended warranties for Generators, UPS , Fire extinguishers , Earthings , Civil Infrastructure Maintenance and provisioning Civil Services, Fuelling Services .

Damcon has an extended dedicated services to the below listed sites and teams are available 24 x 7

Damcon SLA: Response time of Damcon in the context of warranted services at all days, 24 X 7, shall be one hour from the reporting of the fault. In case reporting incident is effecting critical Components (Connectivity of more than two Universities ) then the response time shall be 30 minutes from the reporting of the fault. The same will be valid for all non-working hours and non-workings days of HEC.

PERN2 Network Design

PERN design is based of latest technology available in the domain, i.e. Gigabit Metro Ethernet, SDH, and DWDM (OADMs/OLAs). The network architecture had to comprise of 10 GE Metro Ring Networks in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore metro cities, whereas in other larger cities like, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta and Peshawar, the network had to be established using hub-and-spoke topology. Three (03) High End Carrier Class Core Routers at Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi had to be installed as three Regional Access (RA) POPs (Point of Presence: a junction/aggregation point of connections), whereas, Eight Local Access (LA) POPs in the three metro cities and Four Sub-Regional Access (sRA)POPs based on aggregation/ distribution routers of Carrier Class had to be installed in four major cities.

Scope of Work

PERN2 is  a program of HEC and a  largest  nationwide  terrestrial  network  with  point  of  presence  (POPs) located  at  the premiere educational & research institutions and regional centers of Higher Education Commission in major cities of the country Complete list of sites is given below . All the sites are equipped with Carrier Class  Routing DataCom Equipment , Un-interrupted Power supplies UPS with individual battery back-up, Generators,  Air Conditioners, Electrical Panels, illuminating lamps (Tube lights, spotlights, Energy savers etc), Bracket fans, Fire extinguishers coupled with Fire alarm controllers  /  detectors  and  civil  Infrastructure  (Earthlings,  False  Ceilings,  Raised  Floors,  Power Ducts, Fiber Ducts).
